Pastors and Staff

Andy Rees

Lead Pastor

Andy is married to Grace and has three young children. The family moved to Norwich when Andy was called to lead Surrey Chapel in May 2019. His big passion is seeing people come to know Jesus, and maturing in trusting him as they get into his word, the Bible.
He has previously served as an Assistant Pastor in Woodgreen Evangelical Church, Worcester, a Student Worker at St Helen’s Bishopsgate, London and as a Ministry Apprentice at St Ebbes in Oxford.  As a student he studied at Exeter University, and more recently did a degree in Theology and Pastoral Studies at OakHill College London, for which he is very thankful.
He has also worked as a secondary school teacher in South London, and had a whole host of other less interesting jobs growing up. Andy is Welsh (although he needs to work on his accent) and loves beach trips, indie rock, hipster burgers, and all things Welsh Rugby.

Bev Dubberley

Outreach and Trainer

Bev is married to Andy and they have 4 children. After university, she spent 16 years sharing the good news about Jesus with students in the Midlands with UCCF, and overseas in Israel, South Africa and Turkey with IFES and two years at George Whitfield Theological College in Cape, where her husband was studying.
She and her family returned to the UK in 2011 and she started working part-time as a piano teacher and part-time with the staff at Surrey Chapel in 2012.
Ever since becoming convinced at University, that Jesus is who he says he is in the Bible, Bev has been keen to help others investigate Christianity and to help Christians to communicate their faith relevantly.
In her spare time, Bev enjoys family walks with their badly-behaved dog, sailing on the Broads, and playing the clarinet in a local orchestra.

Iain Ridley

Welcome and Integration Worker

Iain is married to Faith, and they have one son, they moved to Norwich from South-West London in September 2021 and are delighted to be getting stuck into life here in Norfolk.
Originally from the North-East and having grown up in Lincolnshire, Iain moved to London to attend drama school, and after graduating spent the next 10 years working (some of the time) as an actor. With a desire to be more settled and start a family, it was then that he was offered a job working for his church in London and spent the next 5 years helping everyone who came through the doors of the church to join in.
He was in his early twenties when he came to know Jesus as his Lord and Saviour and understand how that changes everything. He’s excited to serve in this new role at Surrey Chapel and help others keep going and growing in their faith.
Likes: meeting new people, meals with friends, a spot of gardening, buying old vinyl records, reading, and scrabble.
Dislikes: being on his own for too long, badly cooked steak, cycling up Ketts Hill!

Annie Creed

Head of Children's & Youth Work

Originally a primary school teacher, Annie serves on the staff team at Surrey Chapel and has done since January 2019, as head of youth and children’s work. She is married to Jordan, and came to know Jesus personally as a child. Annie studied on the TEAM course in Cambridge in 2019/20 and will be completing a Masters in children’s and youth ministry theology next year.
Her love of working with young people and sharing Jesus is combined in her job – which is very exciting! This role involves supporting families, organising Sunday and midweek groups for kids and teenagers and equipping our fab team of volunteer leaders.
Annie loves to travel to new places, set herself yearly reading challenges, cook exciting food and take part in any kind of exercise.
